ABSTRACT
This research undertaken in the Caimito Community, located in
the Muisne canton of the Esmeraldas Province, for which a
tourism product proposal has been designed, one that will provide
economic, social, and environmental benefits for the community.
The first chapter of this project defines the methodology. For the
second chapter, the diagnosis of the tourism system of the
Caimito community was performed through the implementation
of three important cards, such as: tourism characterization of
communities; characterization of the demand and survey of tourist
attractions, both of which allowed us to know the baseline of the
community. In chapter three, a market investigation was carried
out, which made it possible to obtain data through a survey
directed to 384 people, most of whom were residents of the city
of Quito, the natural market of the province of Esmeraldas, as a
result of which we learned about the target market, its tastes, and
preferences.
For the fourth and final chapter, we proceeded to elaborate a
SWOT analysis and then strategies that allowed to design the
tourism product proposal, based on highlighting the ecotourism,
gastronomy, and ancestral culture of the Caimito community.
Key words: Ecotourism, community, sustainability, culture,
resilience, tourism system, tourism product, economics.
