Influence of Matlab in the learning of heat transfer in food
Main Article Content
Abstract
Introduction. College students have difficulty understanding heat transfer in food. Objective. To determine the influence of the use of matlab in the learning of heat transfer in food in agro-industrial engineering students. Materials and methods. The study is basic type, quantitative-qualitative, correlational between variables, use of matlab and learning with the t-student test, quasi-experimental design, a traditional method was applied to the control group, sessions with Matlab to the experimental group, using the written test instrument. of pre and post to the nine students of Unit Operations, chosen by "criterion-judgment" for each group. Results. In the pre-test the means are similar 11.422 and 11.36, for the control and experimental group, in the post-test there are 13.53 and 15.74, “in process” and “achieved” for the control and experimental respectively, according to the t-student test with p <0.05 there is evidence of the influence of matlab, in the experimental group between the pre and posttest the difference is 2.21 points, according to t-student (p <0.05) there is significant evidence that the highest mean corresponds to the post test. Conclusion. The use of Matlab software positively influences the learning of heat transfer in food in agro-industrial engineering students. Key words: matlab, heat transfer, food, learning.
