Transferencia del conocimiento de mecánica en la parroquia Camarones, cantón Esmeraldas-Ecuador

Abstract
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) recommends that universities strengthen their functions of service to society. In the Ecuadorian university the link with society is a factor of strategic interaction of intervention in the territory that makes it possible to respond and at the same time make the university viable with the relevance of its environment, to the expectations and needs of society, to the world scientific, humanistic and technological development regime, and cultural diversity. The “Luis Vargas Torres” Technical University of Esmeraldas, through the Faculty of Engineering (FACI), is immersed in the progress of the communities of the province of Esmeraldas in a macro agreement with the National Council of Rural Parish Governments of Ecuador (CONAGOPARE), through the development of the activities of linking students with society, developing in their professional profile. The objective of this research was to evaluate the performance of mechanics students in a specific way in the components of knowledge, aptitude and attitudes in metalworking processes through the execution of projects related to society. For this research, the intervention carried out in the parish of Camarones was considered, where the activities developed with the Autonomous Decentralized Government of the Parish and the community were jointly articulated. As a result, technical advice was obtained for the construction and rehabilitation of recreational and tourist areas by the students in conjunction with the teacher tutors; generating as evidence children's games and pedestrian access to the beach, finally, lectures were given on preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance in saline environments to minimize corrosion and conservation of metal structures, demonstrating good practices in metal-mechanical engineering processes.
